“Clancy’s Chance” is a fantastical story, written, illustrated and designed from the research and analysis of eco-concious buzzwords.

Finding my Niche
With 4 months time to research, I knew I wanted to find my niche in the ever booming eco-concious era. Developing a unique, successful concept and executing it to it’s full intent in such a popular, widely seen subject would surely be a challenge. I delved into the subject willing to learn the goals of efforts small and large, including local businesses, organizations, corporate companies, local to wordwide efforts, all contributing in some way to aiding in the earth’s condition. Throughout my research, there was one linking similarity. New words were being developed to depict a certain ecological practice or action. These eco-concious buzzwords became the core subject of research that would lead to the creation of what would become an informational story for all audiences.

Synopsis, Design and Illustration
One of these buzzwords, climate canary, became the fictional subject of the story of one bird’s journey to make a difference in the earth’s condition. Clancy, the climate canary, ventures to seven destinations (each illustrated in a unique style), gathering more and more canaries to join his flock for climate change. With 20 buzzwords introduced throughout the book, a goal is reached through continuous efforts and a “song heard ’round the world”.
